Schuchmann Wine to Produce Georgian Vinegar and Balsamic

Schuchmann Wines Georgia company plans to launch production of vinegar and balsamic, the company director general Nutsa Abramishvili told BM.GE.

At this stage, production process is carried out in the company, and the new products will be supplied to consumers in 2019, she noted.

Currently, the company enterprises products of more than 15 grape varieties: wines, chacha and sparkling wines. This week the company has issued an entirely new line – beauty products, namely, oil of grape pips and scrubs. German philanthropist Burkhard Schuchmann has invested more than 12 million USD in the company since 2008. He is the company fonder. Investments were made in wine-making, hospitality and tourism sectors.

“In 2015 Mr. Burkhard Schuchmann was granted the title of a citizen of honor of Georgia and citizenship of Georgia. Consequently, he had no problems with land privatization. Because he is free of any moratorium and restrictions. We continue arranging new vineyards. At this stage, Schuchmann Wines Georgia owns 120 hectare vineyards in various micro zones in Kakheti”, Nutsa Abramishvili said.

Schuchmann Wines Georgia produces 1.5 million bottles a year and exports 90% of them to 20 countries. Only 10% of the company products are sold on the domestic market.
