In couple of weeks, a new Georgian olive oil brand will appear on the market. According to GeoLive company founder Giorgi Svanidze, first samples of olive oil will be sold at the local markets from the end of the month.
At the first stage, company plans to produce 25 ton production, which will increase.
“We have already signed agreements with large retail chains – Carrefour,Goodwill and Smart. We will supply them with two varieties of olive oil – black and white, in one-liter and half-liter bottles,” he says.
“Quality will fully comply with international standards, moreover, our product will be of higher quality than imported. At the first stage we will produce 100 tons of oil annually,” he notes.
Since 2017 the company intends to start exporting products to EU countries, Russia, Kazakhstan, Central Asia, and the United States. According to the founder of GeOlive, their products are able to compete with foreign counterparts. The company now owns the olive plantations built on the area of 50 hectares. The investment cost of the project amounts to GEL 5 million.
