National Food Agency Intensifies Egg Marking Control

National Food Agency has organized a meeting at the agency conference hall with egg manufacturers. The agency’s authorized bodies updated business operators on novelties and transmitted recommendations over mandatory marking of eggs. Business operator is obliged to precisely indicate production and expiry dates on eggs.

“It is important that consumers have real information on consumer market food. It is also priority of national food agency to increase awareness of business operators to prevent violations. To this end, we actively cooperate with business sector”, the agency head Zurab Chekurashvili noted.

This year National Food Agency carried out 15 inspection campaigns at egg manufacturers as part of state control. A total of 30 samples were taken for exploration, 39 documentation examinations were carried out. As a result, 8 business operators were fined for violation of labeling regulations.
