Marriott International and Starwood Hotels announced a $12.2 billion merger deal on Monday.
Together, the companies will operate or franchise 5,500 hotels with a total of 1.1 million rooms. The company will cover 100 countries.
Both of these brands – Marriott and Starwood Hotels – already operate on the Georgian market.
Starwood is the managing company behind Sheraton Metekhi Palace. Starwood also owns the brand Le Méridien which is currently being implemented in Batumi Towers by the Georgian company “Redkos.”
Courtyard Marriott and Tbilisi Marriott also operate on the Georgian market, these hotel brands will open in Georgia’s Black Sea Resort Batumi soon.
