Less Students Attend Georgia’s State University

The number of students in the state universities is decreasing, while in the private higher education institutions, on the contrary, is growing.

In 2003-2004, students of private universities  accounted for 19% of the total number, in 2011-2012- 25%  while  in 2015-2016 school year – 32%. “Commersant” wondered what determines the demand for private education institutions.

According to the representatives of the educational sector,  private institutions offer a better quality of education to students. Director of the  Civil Development Institute Ia  Antadzes says that  this is confirmed  by  specific facts.

Education expert Simon Janashia also says that the private universities’ reputation is high in the country today.
