This is a project that completely changes the neighborhood ecological environment, – said Mamuka Khazaradze, founder of Anaklia Holding.
He informed businessmen about the project progress. He noted, that the port does not need 1000 ha for land development in the phase of modern technology, because today ports are big soft-companies that counts, distributes and optimizes transportation and logistics. That is why, the Anaklia Deep Sea Port will be provided with 340 ha of land plot, where 100 million tons of cargo port will be developed.
As for the rest of the territory, an administrative unit, operating in a special regime, will be arranged and a special organic law will be written for it. International experts should be involved in the creation of the draft bill.
“It will become the place interesting not merely in terms of transport direction, but for production and logistics centers,” said Mamuka Khazaradze.
The businessman says that cost of the 1st Phase is 550 million and the business plan does not envisage any Chinese container.
“We create a new opportunity for Georgia to become an ideal logistical and transportation hub … Our business plan does not envisage any container from China, it is merely based on the cargo that is around us. We have shown a very pessimistic depiction to the banks and it’s enough to fund us, but we know that China is issuing 350 mln t cargo in Europe. However, as soon as this Port will be launched, any 1% that will drop in this direction doubles the capacity of the 1st and 2nd phases”, – Mamuka Khazaradze notes.
