Investment Forum ‘American Business in Georgia’ Held in Tbilisi

On November 17, 2015 at Rooms Hotel Tbilisi, The Financial in partnership with ICC Georgia and AmCham has organized an Investment Forum “American Business in Georgia”.

The main goal of the forum was to discuss the investment climate in Georgia and the mechanisms of attracting foreign investment. Mr. Zviad Pochkhua- General Director of the “Financial” gave a welcome speech to the attendees.

Mr. Zurab Katchkatchishvili- Secretary General of ICC Georgia has discussed the challenges facing investors and gave an overview of the risks associated with the investments in Georgia. Mr. Michael Cowgill – the First Vice-President of AmCham has discussed the impact of US State projects on business climate development in Georgia.

The other Key speakers were: Mr. Aieti Kukava- General Director of Aliance Group Holding; Ms. Ketevan Kvartskhava- Partner at BLC and Mr. Zviad Skhvitaridze- Head of Legal and External Affairs of British American Tobacco. The speakers have discussed currently implemented projects in Georgia, existing trends and perspectives; they have also emphasized the key mechanisms, that are essential for local community development.

ICC Georgia is the largest and most vocal global Business Association in the country; it includes over 350 corporate and youth members and 28 business associations. The International Chamber of Commerce is the largest business organization in the world that includes over 6.5 million businesses and chambers of commerce. ICC consults regularly at the global level with the G8, G20, the World Bank, WTO, WCO and the UN.
