Communications company Caucasus Online makes clarification on the possible merger with its main competitor – the Silknet company.
Caucasus Online, like any progressive and dynamic company, is constantly looking for opportunities to expand and strengthen. At this stage, we are going to negotiate with international financial institutions, as well as foreign and local communications companies. As for a request submitted to the National Communications Commission about Caucasus Online and Silknet merger, we want to clarify that the Commission’s permit is required for a merger or sale of assets in this area.
To start negotiations on this issue, we should know the Commission’s position on a possible merger. At the moment, Caucasus Online and Silknet have not signed any formal agreements. We may also declare that Caucasus Online does not rule out a deal with other foreign or local companies and clarify the Commission’s position on this matter. For example, we’ve sent a joint request about the merger with mobile operator MagtiCom.
The current process is a natural step in the development of the sphere of communications in the country – Caucasus Online statement reads. Additional and more detailed information will be made public only after the adoption of specific solutions – the Internet provider’s management explains.
