Government of Georgia plans to launch full-scale inventory of woodlands, Ministry of Environment and Agriculture said.
The inventorying process will end in 2019. As a result, the country will have a valuable database about conditions of woodlands. This is the ground for taking important decisions and planning woodlands sustainable management. Moreover, this project will bolster international accountability.
The renewed data on Georgia’s woodlands will be directly reflected on satisfying the public demand for wood resources.
