German Government Plans to Strengthen German Business in Georgia

A special attention was paid to the relations, including economic, between the two countries – German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said after a meeting with his Georgian counterpart.

In his words,  the German and Georgian governments are interested in developing German business in Georgia.

“We discussed the ways of  development of  these relations. We welcomed the joint Georgian-German business workshop participants. This is the first workshop, which takes place in Berlin. We also talked about how to strengthen economic relations and how to expand German business in Georgia”, – said Steinmeier.

For his part, the Vice-Premier of Georgia announced  that strengthening of German business and investments in the Georgian economy was one of the priorities of the government.

“Bilateral cooperation, deepening of economic relations with Germany, in particular, strengthening of German business and investments in the Georgian economy, is one of our priorities”, said Giorgi Kvirikashvili.

Foreign Ministry says that  the workshop is being held in Berlin under the aegis of German Foreign Ministry and German marketing agency “Deutschland- Land der Ideen”.

The Georgian delegation consisted of the representatives of Chamber of Commerce, Export Development Agency, Georgian Business Association, the National Tourism Agency, the government’s administration and various private companies.
