Georgia’s PM: Foreign Companies are Interested in Manufacturing in Georgia

The Prime Minister of Georgia has assessed a working visit to Spain and Davos at today’s government session.

Kvirikashvili said he is pleased that in the framework of his Spain visit, a memorial plaque in honor of Georgia was unveiled at the headquarters of United Nations World Tourism Organization based in Madrid.

Premier believes that this is a very great honor and recognition of the great success achieved by the country in this direction. Prime Minister assessed his visit to Davos as very interesting. According to him, it is important for Georgia to be aware of the events that are now taking place on an international scale and remain in touch with friends and partners.

“A series of meetings with heads of state have been held. We had a very interesting meeting with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Mr. Suma Chakrabarti. It should be noted that the year 2016 was record for EBRD in terms of a volume of investments carried out in Georgia,” – said the Prime Minister.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili also spoke about a very positive attitude from the IMF President Christine Lagarde concerning the global economic growth. Kvirikashvili has also held meetings with representatives of tourism, hotel sectors, aviation companies, who are interested in investing in the Georgian market.
