In 2016, 11 800 sheep were exported from Georgia to Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The exported goods totally amounted about one million dollar.
“In order to ensure animal health, the National Food Agency keeps monitoring and carries out also vaccination of animals for variety of diseases. This significantly contributes the safety and increase export potential”, – said Mikhail Sokhadze, Deputy Head of the National Food Agency, Georgia.
National Food Agency Ministry of Agriculture carries out veterinary checks throughout Georgia in order to induce the export potential of livestock.
Within State Program, preventive and mandatory vaccinations for different diseases are executed. Until today almost one million sheep and goats are vaccinated.
For the purpose of preventing different diseases additional vaccines at amount of 700 thousands are imported to the country. In addition, the quality of all those vaccines are high.
