Georgian Architect’s designed hotel project at Shekvetili got international competition award.
An architect George Khmaladze received an influential architectural competition’s “Architizer” prize, as a result of the project created for Shekvetili Region.
The international competition holds annually. George Khmaladze projected the building of McDonald’s in Batumi, which took 1st place in the competition in 2014. The hotel at Shekvetili was awarded in such category, which is yet unbuilt project.
George Khmaladze said to “Business contact” that only one project will receive the title of “The Project of the Year 2016” in this competition, thus, the award “Special Mention” was given to his project.
“The victory in the project is pretty important in order to raise awareness. McDonald’s project was well known inside the country, but after the competition, it has gone beyond the borders.
As a result, various foreign projects expressed their interests, then we received invitations to closed competitions in Abu Dhabi, in Baku, – all this is rather important in our profession, “- says George Khmaladze.
As for the project at Shekvetili, according to the architect, the area is totally green and is divided into some parts. One of the line there is pine forest area where the hotel will be located and the guests will be able to receive a variety of sanitary procedures.
