Georgian Wheat Producer Association was established a week ago. One of the founders of the association is co-founder of Georgian wheat bread “Mzetamze”.
The head of new association declared that the aim of the association is to save Georgian wheat, improve the quality and popularize it in the country.
“Today, 70-80% of wheat is imported, whereas Georgia can produce at least 60% of the product itself. The advantage of Georgian wheat is strong immunity and nutritious substance” – declares Lali Meskhi.
According to Lali Meskhi, Georgian wheat brings small income because its quality is spoiled. Today, it is a common trend in the world to have as much harvest as possible and the quality is not a priority. The head of association claims that their aim is to change this attitude.
