Georgia Gained 9 Positions in Global Innovation Index

Georgia has improved positions in Global Innovation Index. According to the 2018 report, Georgia ranks 59th and the country has advanced by 9 positions compared to 2017.

Georgia ranks first in the Index on regional level.

“Georgia has considerably improved positions in Global Innovation Index and this signifies Government has taken decisive steps in the field of innovations. As compared to other countries, which also make advancements, Georgia’s reform turned out faster and more efficient, It is important that Georgia is a regional leader in this direct”, Avtandil Kasradze, head of Innovation and Technology Agency noted.

Georgia will not stop and the country will make further advancements thanks to planned large-scale reforms, he said.

We expect Georgia to rank among top 50 countries in 2019 and among top 30 coutris in several years, Kasradze said.

“Advancement in the rating signifies foreign investors’ interest in Georgia will increase and international Angel and Venture investors will enter Georgia”, Kasradze noted.
