For the first time ever, Georgian wines were represented in the TEXSOM International Wine Awards (Dallas, USA) last month. The results of Texas-based contest were recently announced. Four Georgian wines were awarded with medals – all produced by Tbilvino.
The winning wines and awards are as follows:
- Tbilvino Kindzmarauli 2013, Silver
- Tbilvino Qvevris Rkatsiteli, Kakheti 2013, Bronze
- Tbilvino Mukuzani, Kakheti 2013, Bronze
- Tbilvino Napareuli, Kakheti 2012, Bronze
The entries were blind-tasted and judged by 67 internationally renowned industry influencers from 10 countries. Of these entries, the judges awarded 2,133 medals.
TEXSOM is the most prominent and influential professional beverage education and training conference in the United States and has been recognized as one of the most important wine events in the world.
Founded in 2005, TEXSOM was started by Master Sommeliers James Tidwell and Drew Hendricks to raise public awareness about the professional standards and certifications for sommeliers. Today the conference draws a total of 1,100 attendees, of which 900 are sommeliers and other beverage industry professionals.
