Finance Minister about Omega: Shameful Business is Trying to Avoid Tax Payment by Media Blackmail

Nobody will be allowed to blackmail the Authorities, Minister of Finance of Georgia Ivane Machavariani told reporters in response to OMEGA Group.

The Georgian Authorities have never had so friendly attitude to business sector and so loyal relation with media, as under the ruling of Georgian Dream, the Finance Minister pointed out.

“I declare with full responsibility that it is absolutely unacceptable and shameful when business uses media blackmails for tax evasion. Nobody dares to blackmail the state. This money belongs to our people and they must pay this sum. We have made all forms of offers to them. We offered a timetable several times, meeting their needs, but they did not fulfill the assumed obligations. Therefore, this case does not refer to media. This is a full speculation”, Machavariani noted.
