FARCONI company plans to expand the exports markets and enter European market, the company director Mamuka Alpaidze told BM.GE.
At this stage, laurel leaves are exported to Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and other countries of the CIS, Bulgaria. The company exports Georgian spices to the USA and Hong-Kong. The company also sells healing herbs and berries to pharmaceutical, tea-processing and other food manufacturing companies abroad.
“In 2017 we exported 170 tons of laurel leaves, while this year we plan to increase the volume. We direct 100% of our products under the brand name of Georgian Laurel to exports. We also plan to increase exports of other products, namely, spices and healing herbs”, Mamuka Alpaidze noted.
laurel leaves are mainly bought from local population in western Georgia. The company has built the laurel leaves processing plant in the village of Zvani, Vani Municipality and invested 1 million GEL. The plant launched operation in 2017.
As to the second plant of fARCONI, which manufactures healing herbs and spices, it launched operation in Kutaisi in 2017. Total investment value made up 250 000 USD.
Besides exports markets fARCONI sells products on the domestic market too. Its spices are sold in Kutaisi and Tbilisi stores under the brand name of Khomli, while healing herbs are sold under the brand name of fARCONI in pharmacy networks.
