EBRD Plans to Finance Beer Plant Project of Teliani Valley

Teliani Valley plans to gain funding from EBRD for construction of beer plant.

The financing will consist of a senior (A/B) and a parallel loan in aggregate amount of up to €18.5 million in the total project of 37 million. The credit consist of  3 parts: A Loan for the EBRD’s own account in the amount of €6.17 million, a B Loan in the amount of €6.17 million for the participant and a parallel loan in the amount of €6.16 million.

To remind, the project should be implemented by subsidiary company Global Beer Georgia. As of the preliminary calculations, total cost of the project is 37 million USD excluding VAT; over 13 million USD should be funded from the mentioned sum by the emission of the shares. The plant will produce Heineken, Amstel and Krushovitse beer. The agreement is already signed with HEINEKEN , AMSTEL, Heineken Česká republika.

Global Beer Georgia should be an exclusive producer of Heineken, Amstel and Krushovitse beer in Georgia. However, the company plans to sell the products in Azerbaijan and Armenia. However, launch of production of beer under the local brand and lemonade is also planned, alongside the foreign ones. As of the trademark licensing agreements, the plant will produce the products from December, 2016.
