Construction of Wind Power Plants to Start in Nigoza

Another two wind power plants will be constructed in Georgia in 2018.

According to Mamuka Kobakhidze, Director of Energy Development Fund, the Foundation is actively working on wind power projects in Sachkhere and Nigoza. At this stage, technical terms are agreed with the state electricity system.

One station will be installed in Sachkhere, the matter concerns to the capacity of 100 – 120 mgwt, while the second will be installed in Nigoza with capacity of 20-40 mgwt. Calik Energy is the investor of the power plants. Investment portfolio will be known after the specification of capacity. It should be noted that cost of development of 1 mgwt totals to $ 1.2-1.3 million. As you know, the fund develops the project in Zestafoni, where construction will begin in 2019. In this case, MR Graft is selected as an investor.
