Cigarettes Exports from Georgia Rise by 465%

In January-September 2018 exports of cigarettes, cigars and cigarillos constituted 100.461 million USD, which is 4.1% of Georgia’s total exports.

According to the early report by Geostat, national statistics service of Georgia, as compared to the same period of 2017, cigarette exports from Georgia has increased by 465%. Namely, in January-September 2017 the country exported 17.799 million USD cigarettes.

It is worth noting that the major part of cigarette exports is recorded for re-exports.

Cigarette imports has also increased: namely, in January-September cigarettes imports made up 123.177 million USD, which is 1.8% in total imports and exceeds imports of the same period of 2017 by 108%. In January-September 2017 Georgia imported 59.423 million USD cigarettes
