A cement manufacturing plant owned by Georgian Cement Company has opened in Poti.
“Starting today a new cement plant will launch operation in Poti – this is a genuinely important fact. At the same time, I am very happy that Georgian Cement Company is implementing the project jointly with French-Swiss company Lafargeholcim that will produce international quality product”, First Vice Prime Minister Dimitri Kumsishvili noted at the cement plant inauguration.
Lafargeholcim operates in 90 countries of the world and is one of the main players in the business of cement, inert materials and concrete. The company owns more than 2500 plans all over the world. The Poti plant meets all ecology protection standards. To this end the company has installed 11 filters to protect air from cement dust.
