Who is behind the Austrian company Humanity Georgia, which intends to import cheap medicines in Georgia and build a plant for their production? This topic was covered in the program “Business Courier” aired on “Rustavi-2” TV channel.
As it turned out, the company has received $ 30 million from the Partnership Fund (PF) for the construction of the plant, which is expected to produce 700 kinds of medicines.
According to the Georgian Healthcare Minister David Sergeenko, the imported medicines are already supplied to the clinics involved in the state program of universal health care. Cheap drugs could theoretically be supplied to the hospitals by other pharmaceutical companies, but at this stage, nobody, except for Humanity Georgia, has been involved in the project.
At the same time, according to the founding documents of the company, its deputy director is the nephew of the head of the Partnership Fund Giorgi Saganelidze.
For several years he has been the CEO of the insurance company “Archimedes Global Georgia“, which went bankrupt in late 2013. Despite the fact that George Saganelidze was director of a bankrupt company, Director of Humanity Georgia Andrey Kuzma speaks of him as a manager with unique abilities and management skills.
In his words, the family ties with Executive Director of the PF was not the reason for the appointment of George Saganelidze for the post.
At the same time, “Business Courier” reports that the Partnership Fund allocated GEL 30 million during the current head of the fund and the uncle of the deputy director of the company.
