Caucasus Online (LLC Mobitel) is purchased by Beeline. The big deal has been expected at the communication market for several months, after Caucasus Online has made an offer.
Active negotiations have been initially held with “MagtiCom” and “SilkNet”. Later, the news was disseminated, that “MagtiCom” was acquiring the asset, which has gained a permit from the Regulatory.
According to Beeline, the procedure is already launched and they are expecting for the permit from the Regulatory. Subsidiary of Russian “Vimpelkom” is acquiring all assets in retail direction (internet, IPTV; VOIP…) besides the Black Sea optical cable.
To remind, initially SilkNet wanted to merge Caucasus, they have submitted joint statement to the Communication Commission, but the company declared, that the submitted documentation has not been enough and market research has not been made, then management of “SilkNet” re-announced afresh submission of documents.
However, negotiations were started with “Vimpelkom” and like MagtiCom, less documentations are necessary in order to take a permit, as the company is a mobile operator and not internet-provider.
According to mobile operator, the choice was conditioned by the offered price.
