Due to financial problems, a canning factory Bebo stopped its production. “The Georgian Products Group” which is engaged in Bebo conserves production told CBW that due to a bank loan and the imposed high-interest rates, the factory faced financial problems and was forced to stop production a few months ago.
Irakli Turiashvili says that at this stage the company is in talks with the Georgian bank after which the company will resume production. Turiashvili does not specify the bank and the loan amount. He explains that at the time the bank faced financial problems due to the loan. Bebo products were mainly exported to foreign markets, however, were sold throughout the country. The company produced more than 10 kinds of products- jams, jellies, ajika, satsebela (sauces) and marinades.
