Georgian section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is ready for operation, Mamuka Bakhtadze, Director General of Georgian Railway declares.
Bakhtadze exclusively declared to Azerbaijani news agency Trend that works are only finished on the area of Turkey. According to him, Georgia and Azerbaijan are at the important stage of transport sphere development in terms of connecting the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea ports.
Bakhtadze considers that the potential freight corridor can be estimated at several million tons.
In view of all projects, which we are discussing today, in the long term, this traffic can reach about 10 million tons.
