Aversi Hinders Government to Construct Alternative Building on Infectious Disease Hospital Territory

“We hope to negotiate the issue with the property owners. We will not leave such a strategic facility in this condition. A land plot has been already allocated in Tbilisi, we have already launched working on design and construction works are expected to start at the end of the year”, Georgian Health Minister David Sergeenko made this statement in relation to the rally organized by the Infectious Disease Hospital medical staff.

Aversi has not enabled the government to construct an alternative building on the Infectious Hospital territory, the Minister said. “The last 6 months were spent in vain, in practice, with Aversi and we were not allowed to construct an alternative facility on the same territory by the same state finances.

At the beginning of the year, we purchased medical equipment, without which it is impossible to care for patients valuably. This equipment has been transmitted, but the owner does not enable to perform elementary cosmetic works at the expense of the clinic, to improve the conditions and install simple medical equipment for patients”, David Sergeenko said.

We hope the property owner will enable patients to have full access to medical services before the new clinic has been constructed. “I hope the property owner will make simple concession and enable us to provide full medical services to patients before completion of the new clinics construction works”, David Sergeenko said.
