American movie producers plan to arrive in Georgia at the end of June, 2016 to explore various locations for implementing future projects, Keti Bochorishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, told the Business Contact.
“After this a big team of cinematographers from India will visit Georgia. I would like to note that applications have been submitted for one American and one Europe movie.
Movie shootings will start in September. At this stage, Indian specialists have already started shooting as part of our project.
The shooting period will last 65 days and its budget makes up 3.5 million USD”, Bochorishvili said and added that Indians take decisions very quickly.
At least five foreign films will be shot in our country this year, she said.
We remind you that the Entrepreneurship Development Agency manages the movie industry development program that calls for remunerating 20-25% of qualified costs taken for shooting in Georgia to companies and producers.
Only those projects with at least 0.5 million USD budget will enjoy tax preferences.
