Akhali Tevzi Plans to Export Caviar and Fish Products

The fish processing company “Akhali Tevzi”, equipped with modern standards in Kareli, was opened. The company will bring products on the market under the brand “Umali”.

LLC Akhali Tevzi produces 150 t of different species of fish and caviar annually. 100% of the products are at this stage intended for the local market, while product export is planned in the future.

The company plans to take ISO 900,000 of international standards with the support of the Agricultural Projects Management Agency and USAID / REAP in the nearest future. To note, 30% of beneficiary will be financed by the Agriculture Projects Management Agency, 50% will be financed by USAID / REAP and the remaining 20% should be paid by the beneficiary. LLC Akhali Tevzi will get a certificate in November.

It should be noted that the enterprise was created within the frame of Joint Agriculture Project and employed 30 persons. The number of employees will be increased up to 65 in the near future.

The company is the beneficiary of the “Co-financing Program for Agricultural Processing and Saving Enterprises”. 1.5 million USD has been invested in the enterprise in total, 249 081 USD was a grant and 311 352 USD – preferential agricultural loan.
