Works have begun to repair the access road to the village of Gergeti, and the pedestrian access path to the Gergeti Trinity church.
The Municipal Development Fund has already announced a tender, and the estimated purchase price is GEL 1 630 176. According to the information provided by the Fund, the projected length of the access road to the village of Gergeti is 1800 metres. The project will involve construction of a concrete road, gabion walls, reinforced concrete cells and water drain pipes, as well as connection and access points to private yards.
As for the access path to the Gergeti Trinity church, it will be 1430 metres in length. The pedestrian path will be situated on a difficult terrain. Therefore, steps will be constructed at 300 m level. There will also be road signs and wooden benches, enabling a more comfortable and safe access for tourists and pilgrims. Works are estimated to continue for 10 months. The deadline for submitting tender offers is 29 September.
