Chairman of Road Department met the population leaving in the area and introduced their problems. According to the Department, totally 774 families are the subject of eviction, at that contract is already signed with 218 families.

Project of Batumi bypass road envisages constriction of 14 km road section, 19 bridges, 4 transport hubs, 5 tunnels and 57 culverts. The project, which construction terms are determined by 2017-2020, is jointly funded by the Asian Development Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

The department explains that the road passes through tourist and leaving zone, which creates problems to the international transit transport, as they have to move in narrow streets. However, the first section of Kobuleti bypass road is already constructed in order to solve the problem and construction of the second section is being carried.
