62% of Employers Apply to Friends and Relatives to Seek Professional Staff

The circle of friends, relatives and personal contacts – the widespread mechanism for seeking and employing professional staff in Georgia.

About 62% of employers in Georgia actively use these methods. A corresponding report published by ACT provides information on the attitude of employers towards the vocational schools.

Forty-four percent of the respondents also apply internet resources to seek appropriate staff. Vocational schools and mass media means are not considered, in practice, as an instrument for seeking professional staff.

Namely,  62% of employers apply to the circle of friends and relatives to seek professional staff, 44% use internet resources, 6% use websites, newspapers, television and radio and only 4% keep relations with vocational schools.

The research has involved potential employers of vocational school students. A total of 279 organizations were inquired as part of the research work.

Under the report, 86% of the inquired organizations possess certain information on Georgia-based vocational schools, including 21% of them know vocational schools very well. Only 14% do not have any information on vocational schools in Georgia.
