A 30-million multifunctional project has been suspended in Batumi.
The project is carried out by the Georgian New Construction Company (NCC); according to plan, multi-functional buildings were to be built on the boulevard instead of old featureless houses, including, a 100-room hotel, a restaurant, cafe-bars, a swimming pool, bowling club, fitness hall. The company head Roin Beridze says that Batumi City Hall denied permission for the project.
“The City Hall does not want to build high rise buildings on this area, we planned to build 28-33-35 storey houses, but were denied and were forced to stop the project,” – Beridze explains.
According to him, the project initially was planned to be carried out by the Russian construction company Rusich but later the investor changed and the development company Sveti got interested in the project.
