Russia and Italy Emerge as Major Contributors of Money Transfers to Georgia

In November 2018 the volume of money inflows to Georgia made up 133.1 million USD (358.9 million GEL), up 9% (+11 million USD) as compared to the same period of 2017.

According to the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), the major money transfers were carried out from Russia (37.79 million USD). Italy ranks second with 16.49 million USD and Greece is third with 14.62 million USD.

The USA and Israel also rank among top 5 contributor countries with 13-13 million USD.

According to the NBG, in November 2018, money transfers from Georgia abroad made up 19.7 million USD (53.10 million GEL), instead of 19.9 million USD (53.08 million GEL) of November 2017.
