Remittances from Abroad Decreased in March 2015

In March 2015, the volume of remittances to Georgia from abroad decreased by 23. 5% compared to March 2014.

According to the National Bank, during this period in total $ 92.2 million was transferred to the country, which is 23.5% less than in the corresponding period of last year. Of the total transfers,  91.6% accounts for 12 countries – in the same period of  2014 this figure was 93.6%.

The five donor countries include Russia ($ 34, 4 million), Greece ($14, 3 million), Italy ($ 8, 9 million.), USA ($ 8, 9 million) and Turkey ($ 6, 6 million). Remittances from Georgia abroad amounted to $ 15. 4 million in March 2015 while in March 2014 –  $ 14.2 million.
