Profit of Banks Saw Increase by 8.4% in the First Half of the Year

The National Bank of Georgia has published financial indicators of the first half (January-June) of current commercial banks operating in Georgia.

As for the data, TBC Bank saw the highest profit worth of 183 million GEL which is 22% more than the profit of the first half of 2017. “Bank of Georgia” with 114 million GEL, which is 45% less than profit of the first half of the previous year. The third is “Liberty Bank” with a profit of 30 million GEL.

The net profit growth rate leader is “Finca Bank”, the profit of which increased by 1214% and amounted to 1.4 thousand GEL.

The first half of the year ended with loss by two banks: “Silk Road Bank” -0.6 million dollars and “Ish Bank” -1 million dollars.

In the first half all banks saw a net profit of 410 million GEL, 73% of which comes in two large banks. Compared to the first half of 2017, the total profit of banks decreased by 8.4%.
