New 100 GEL Banknotes Appear in Turnover

National Bank of Georgia (NBG) injected new 100-GEL banknotes in turnover. The new banknotes will run in turnover jointly with old patterns.

The banknote is of violet color and its dimensions make up 70mmx142mm.

The banknote foreside depicts the image of Shota Rustaveli with indication – Shota Rustaveli XII century, as well as an illustration of the Knight in Tiger Skin, one of the pages of the first-printed edition of the poem, biblical plots, Tbilisi Zakaria Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Academic Theater, an extract from national anthem of Georgia and national emblem of Georgia.

The new banknotes are protected by simply perceptible and modern and high-technology signs, including for persons with dim sight.

As reported, on February 1, 2016 NBG introduced new 20 and 50 GEL banknotes.
