General Auditor: Bonuses in State Agencies Decreased by GEL 31 Million while Salaries Increased by 45 Million

Lasha Tordia, General Auditor of the State Audit Office of Georgia,  confirms that bonuses in the  state agencies were replaced by salary supplements.

Tordia notes that the government’s resolution to restrictbonuses has failed to regulate the issue.

According to  the General Auditor , the amount of salary supplements in  the Ministry of Regional Development increased by  69%, in the Ministry of Justice – by 206%,  in the Corrections Department –  by 412%, the Ministry of Culture – 1 509%, the Ministry of Refugees – by  35%,  in the  Health Ministry  – by 270%.

In his words, the amount of bonuses decreased by  GEL 31 million, while the salary supplements – increased  by GEL 45 million.

“The State Audit Office does not oppose  bonuses and salary supplements , but the cash disbursements must be regulated wihtin  the resolution, the people should receive bonuses, but they must be substantiated as well as in a case of the  salary supplements,” Lasha Tordia notes.
