Discussion on money insurance of bank’s depositors has moved to the Presidents’ Place.
The president’s advisor on economic issues, Maya Melikidze met the representative of Georgian banking Association and noted, that before submission to the parliament, the draft bill would go consultations with non-governmental sector, president of NBG and representatives of the World Bank. The final version will be formed jointly with Finance Minister.
Roman Gotsiridze does not believe in the final version and the consultations sees him mindless.
According to former president of NBG, insurance system is costly, the banking sector does not have the luxury, especially in the current economic conditions.
To remind, consultations on deposit insurance started in the previous century, when Zurab Nogaideli has been the Finance Minister. Later, consultations on system arrangement has been numerously held with invited experts, but the consensus has not been reached even in the expert circles.
