55 Million GEL is Spent to Beach Protection Works in Batumi

The Municipal Development Fund of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia carries out beach protection works in Batumi.

According to MDF, the project is implemented with financial support of Asian Development Bank and its value goes beyond 55 million GEL, BM.ge reports.

According to the company, Chairman of Autonomous Government of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze and Executive Director of Municipal Development Fund Giorgi Shengelia visited the ongoing works.

“The Batumi Beast Protection Project envisages arrangement of about 2 km coastal structures, restoration of coastline and full rehabilitation of damaged boulevard. In order to connect the restored coast of the boulevard, 12 pedestrian bridges will be arranged, length of which will be 20 meters and the width is 1.5 meters, “reads the press release.

Coast Guard operations in Batumi will be completed by the end of 2019.
